Cottenham House is a Victorian, semi-rural style property. We were asked to supply flooring in sympathy with the building's age and style. This was achieved by providing reclaimed oak flooring, aged with a smoking process and patinated by brushing and burnishing. In the formal rooms we used a natural grade chevron with borders and in the upper floors a more characterful wide plank. All floors were designed to function with underfloor heating and a natural oil finish was applied to enhance the beauty of the wood without creating a lacquer finish on the surface.
